About the surroundings…
Make
the most of local life in its whole… Warm-hearted people, a countryside
atmosphere, a restful art of life.
The origins of the village remote to the VIIth century. A royal princess gave her name and legend to this place. She founded a monastery that became in the Xth century a benectin abbey and a pilmigrimage place dedicated to the princess.
The remains of the abbey (XIth c.) can still be seen nowadays : The refectory (usually called ëchapter houseí), St Madeleineís chapel, the battlements of the abbey. It is worth visiting the parish church and the Ermitage chapel too.
